Overview
The Ogres are a race of massive, brutish humanoids who inhabit the Mountains of Mourn in the far east. Driven from their original homeland by a catastrophic meteor impact that created the Great Maw — a vast, hungry deity — the Ogres have become the world's most feared mercenaries, selling their services to the highest bidder while pursuing their own agenda of conquest and consumption.
History
The Ogres were once a nomadic people of the eastern steppes, but the Great Maw's arrival destroyed their homeland and transformed their culture. Now they worship the Great Maw as a god of hunger, and their entire society is built around eating — the more you eat, the more powerful you are. Ogre Tyrants lead their tribes through strength and appetite, and the Ogre Kingdoms have expanded across the Mountains of Mourn through sheer force.
Military Forces
Ogre armies are built around raw physical power. Ogre Bulls are the basic infantry — massive, heavily armoured brutes who crash into enemy lines like living battering rams. Ironguts are elite Ogres with even heavier armour. Leadbelchers carry primitive cannons that they fire from the hip. Mournfang Cavalry ride enormous tusked beasts. The Stonehorn and Thundertusk are massive creatures of the mountains, used as living siege weapons.
Culture & Society
Ogre culture revolves entirely around food and strength. The Tyrant leads through physical dominance and the ability to eat more than anyone else. Butchers — Ogre shamans who commune with the Great Maw through ritual cannibalism — are the spiritual leaders of Ogre society. Ogres are mercenaries by nature, and their services are sought by armies across the world. They have no concept of honour or treachery — only appetite and strength.
