Overview
The Beastmen are the children of Chaos — humans and animals warped by the power of the Dark Gods into bestial, hybrid creatures. They lurk in the dark forests of the Old World, raiding settlements and ambushing travellers. The Beastmen believe they are the true inheritors of the world, predating human civilization, and they seek to tear down everything that humanity has built.
History
Beastmen have existed since the first Chaos incursion, born from the corruption of the natural world. They have been a constant threat to the Empire and Bretonnia, their raids devastating isolated villages and supply lines. The great Beastlords — Gorthor the Beastlord, Malagor the Dark Omen — have led devastating invasions that have shaken the Old World. Every forest in the Empire is said to harbour Beastmen, and the truth is not far from this.
Military Forces
Beastmen armies are built around ambush and ferocity. Gors and Ungors form the infantry core, while Bestigors are elite warriors. Minotaurs are massive, bull-headed creatures of terrifying strength. Chaos Spawn serve as shock troops. The Cygor — a blind, magical giant — hurls boulders at enemy formations. Shamans channel the power of the Dark Gods through the Lore of the Wild.
Culture & Society
Beastmen society is tribal and brutal. The strongest Beastlord leads the herd, and challenges to leadership are settled through combat. Shamans — Bray-Shamans — are the spiritual leaders, interpreting the will of the Chaos Gods. The Beastmen gather in great Gors — sacred clearings in the forest — for religious rites and to plan raids. They have no permanent settlements, living as nomadic hunters in the deep forests.
